MINNEAPOLIS, September 1, 2011—Xata Corporation (NASDAQ: XATA), a leader in fleet optimization software, today announced the availability of its new RouteTracker2 electronic onboard recorder (EOBR) for Xata Turnpike, which has been highlighted by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) as the most cost-effective DOT-compliant solution for electronic driver logs.
Available to all new and current Xata Turnpike customers, the RouteTracker2 fits in the palm of a driver’s hand and is fully compliant with current 395.15 regulations. Additionally, the new device meets the current released technical requirements for 395.16 EOBR. At this time, a remedial directive requires a 395.16 EOBR, based on a carrier’s HOS poor-compliance status. Going into effect mid-2012, this regulation is part of the FMCSA’s ongoing efforts to improve highway safety.

It also features a USB 2.0 port that enables driver and vehicle data to be downloaded from the RouteTracker2 to roadside inspection devices, allowing drivers to quickly get back on the road where they belong.
